A Chicom attempt to influence a US election

 The Federalist Wire:

A Chinese national was arrested on Thursday, accused of acting as an illegal agent for Beijing while serving as the campaign manager for a Southern California city council member elected two years ago.

Yaoning “Mike” Sun, 64, was taken into custody amid heightened concerns over alleged Chinese efforts to influence U.S. elections by backing candidates sympathetic to Beijing’s agenda. Officials claim this strategy aims to advance Chinese interests through local political footholds.

According to a complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Sun allegedly collaborated with Chen Jun, a 71-year-old Chinese national who was sentenced last month to 20 months in prison for acting as an illegal agent for the Chinese government.

Chen had previously pleaded guilty to using Chinese funds to bribe federal agents as part of a broader campaign to target the anti-Beijing spiritual group Falun Gong. The charges against Sun suggest Chen also sought to interfere in local elections.

This is some evidence of China's attempt to influence US elections.  They are most active in California which has a lot of people of Chinese descent.  I have only run into a small number of Chinese Americans in Texas.
