Harris running mate's ties to the Chicoms

 DC Daily Journal:

The House Oversight Committee has issued a subpoena to a senior official at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Jacob Marx, demanding his appearance for a deposition in connection with an ongoing investigation into Minnesota Governor Tim Walz’s alleged ties to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The subpoena was issued Wednesday after the committee claimed DHS failed to cooperate with the investigation, which centers on Walz’s “longstanding connection” to the CCP, according to a letter obtained by reporters.

Jacob Marx, who serves as the senior advisor in DHS’s Office of Legislative Affairs, has been asked to testify following whistleblower disclosures related to the governor’s interactions with the CCP. The committee had previously subpoenaed DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas in September, seeking documents and communications regarding Walz’s alleged ties to the Chinese government. However, DHS has not produced any “responsive documents” or substantial information, leaving the committee frustrated over the lack of cooperation.

Rep. James Comer, chairman of the Oversight Committee, expressed his disappointment with DHS’s refusal to cooperate. He told reporters, “I fully expect Marx to comply with our lawful subpoena and appear for a deposition.” Comer went on to criticize the department’s failure to assist the committee’s investigation, calling it “completely inexcusable.” He also underscored the national security implications of the matter, stating, “This is a serious national security threat and DHS’s failure to provide this Committee information on Governor Walz’s extensive ties to the CCP and their unwillingness to cooperate with this investigation in good faith is completely inexcusable.”

Walz’s relationship with the Chinese government has garnered increased scrutiny, particularly after Vice President Kamala Harris selected him as her running mate in the 2024 presidential election. Reports from the Star-Herald and other Midwest news outlets have revealed that Walz, during his time as a teacher, led several groups of students to China on trips funded by the Chinese government. Further investigations have uncovered evidence that Walz welcomed CCP officials, who were connected to a Chinese intelligence agency, into his Nebraska classroom during the 1990s.

The controversy surrounding Walz deepened in September 2024 when the committee uncovered a whistleblower disclosure about a Microsoft Teams chat involving DHS employees. In the chat, participants expressed concerns about Walz’s ties to China. The committee sent a letter to Mayorkas, requesting documents related to Walz’s alleged connections to the CCP, but again, DHS failed to provide any relevant materials.

This issue surfaced to some extent in the 2024 election but many in the media avoided it.  During that campaign, I saw Walz as a lying goofball.  He tried to cover for his lies by claiming he was having trouble with his "grammar." It is surprising that a guy with so many issues can get so far as a US politician.
