The attempt to arrest the leader of Israel
Harvard Law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz told Newsmax on Monday that just as Poland was complicit in the Holocaust, the country is once again an accomplice to the International Criminal Court's "outrageous" arrest warrant of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Dershowitz joined "The Chris Salcedo Show" to react to Poland's adherence to the ICC's arrest warrant of Netanyahu should he try to attend the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz on Jan. 27.
"It's outrageous. And everybody should boycott that event. Israel should boycott it. The United States should boycott it. ... Instead, Israel should have a commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the release," Dershowitz said. "Let's remember what Poland did. It played such a major role in the Holocaust. So many Polish people refused to help the Jews and turned them in. There were very good Poles. There were some excellent people, but Cardinal [Jozef] Glemp and some of the others in Poland played a major role.
He added, "So Poland has something to hide and something to be ashamed of. And the last thing they should do is threaten to arrest the elected prime minister of the only democracy in the Middle East that certainly has never engaged in genocide or anything like it."
"It's a scandal, and Poland is participating in it, and no American should accept that," Dershowitz told Salcedo.
...
The attempt to arrest Netanyahu is absurd. The leader of Israel is responding to a mass murder attack on Israelis that Hamas was totally responsible and its leadership was vowing to commit genocide against the Jews in Israel. That Poland would go along with such a disgraceful idea is still surprising to me.
