The Russians are probably well behind some of the more sophisticated weapons built by the Israelis.  I suspect it probably was a missile attack and not an air attack.   The precision of the missile for outpaces anything in Hezballah's arsenal.  To the extent there was a message in this strike, it was probably to the Iranians that they will not be safe from Israeli weapons even if they have Russian defensive systems.
