If media were really interested in protecting Nebraska farms, it would oppose Obama's death tax increase
NY Times:
Depending on the construction of the pipeline, if it is put in the ground, the farmers and ranchers can still make productive use of the land. I see cattle grazing on land with buried pipelines everyday here in Texas.
What you are seeing is the continued irrational opposition to a pipeline that will enhance US national security, create jobs and lesson imports from despotic regimes like the one in Venezuela. In fact the Canadian oil could complete replace oil from Venezuela that is propping up that awful regime as well as others like Cuba.
The anti energy left is just using these people to push its agenda. If it really cared about them and their farms it would oppose a much bigger threat coming from the Obama administration which is pushing an increased death tax that will force the sale of this property to pay for the taxes after a death. Not in My Back Acreage
