Obama's claims on economy look hollow to much of America

NY Times:

Day After President’s Speech, Some Doubts Linger Over Nation’s Recovery

Despite President Obama’s call to help the middle class, unease lingered among those who said they were still earning less than before the recession.
Here is the problem.  Of the 3,069 counties in the US  only 65 are better off than they were before the recession started.  Of those 65, 40 of them are in oil producing areas where the shale revolution has created thousands of new jobs.  But many of those jobs are at risk because of the precipitous drop in the price of oil.  Thousands of layoffs are already underway.

This recovery is starting to look very fragile.  The media has been too quick to give Obama credit he does not deserve for the improved economy.
