Service academies are better than this guy thinks
Scott Beauchamp:
I strongly disagree. When I graduated from college in 1966 I went through Marine Corps OCS and later went to the Officers Basic School. There were a lot of bright young officers who were highly accomplished, but the graduates of West Point and Annapolis stood out with what they had already been taught about leadership and military operations. Virtually all the officers who finished the course were very good and were capable. But the service academy graduates had a leg up because of the prior training.
Abolish West Point
The military academies cost a fortune and produce average officers.
