Polls unskew themselves as election nears

Gallup reports that party ID has move substantially since the 2008 election where the Democrats had a 10 point advantage at this point that year.  Now the GOP has a one point advantage and independent voters are breaking for Romney.  All those polls that give the Democrats a D+8 or better are now out the window.  That explains why a lot of them now show Romney in the lead.  What is interesting is that the Gallup party ID is close to what Rasmussen has been saying it was all year.  It also happens to be very close to what it was in the 2010 election.
