Mathews admits MSNBC "not officially" in tank for Obama

LA Times:

Chris Matthews will be forever linked with the word "Hardball" (the name for his talk show on MSNBC, incidentally, was derived from a book he wrote).

But Matthews played a little softball for Barack Obama Monday night during an appearance at a Harvard University forum during which he was pressed about perceptions of bias in the cable network's campaign coverage.

When asked by an audience member about how he responds to claims that MSNBC officially supports Obama, the Harvard Crimson notes today, "Matthews responded with typical 'Hardball' wit: 'Well, it's not official.'''

The Crimson correspondent also reports that Matthews sang Obama's praises throughout his speech, calling the Illinois Democrat a symbol of the change that the country needs. "We need to elect a president who has been a student of the world and is a student of the world," Matthews said.

Mathews is probably as ignorant as Obama on the issues involving counterinsurgency warfare and what is really going on in Iraq. Both are prepared to throwaway the victory our troops have won there. Neither understand the importance of our winning a counterinsurgency operation so that our enemies will be discouraged from challenging us with one again. Instead, they have the clueless position of wanting to lose so that the US will be discouraged from challenging enemies. What that means is we will have more enemies and more challenges in the future.

    Matthews and Obama are idiots. They can't see or don't care about all of the hard work our soldiers and government have done up until now. I see an end coming but not in the next year. It would be a mistake to bring home the troops too soon. Obama is a wimp. He doesn't want to show any agression toward any countries so he as to not ruffle any feathers. Hillary was right in answering that she would obliverate Iran if they attacked Israel. We have to let them know we are a very strong and powerful country and nobody crosses us or our allies. And you're right, we would have every country trying to challenge us if they think we will retreat too easily. AMERICA RULES. I LOVE MY AMERICA.

Drones appear to be replacing jets for many operations.  The Russia-Ukraine war is an example of that.  Drones are often hard to detect and can be used for intelligence operations as well as for attacking enemy targets.  It would not surprise me to see drones engaging other drones in combat.  They also cost much less than manned fighters.

Apple's huge investment in US including Texas facility

Blaze: Apple announced a $500 billion commitment to infrastructure in the United States over four years, its largest commitment to domestic spending to date. Apple said it will expand teams and facilities in Arizona, California, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, Texas, and Washington as part of its new spending. With a new facility in Houston, Texas, Apple will reportedly double its investment in advanced manufacturing along with increasing investments in AI and silicon engineering. The company said in a press release that the Houston facility will produce servers to support Apple Intelligence, the "personal intelligence system that helps users write, express themselves, and get things done." ... The Texas facility will be for advanced technologies.   Texas has become a place that is very supportive of the tech industries.  Austin and Houston have seen much of the tech growth in the state.  Texas universities have been active in the AI field.
