Democrats on wrong side of energy and gas prices

Gallup:

... Americans also support releasing supplies from the federal government's strategic petroleum reserve (58%) and drilling in U.S. coastal and wilderness areas now off limits (57%). On the other hand, a majority oppose rationing gasoline (79%), re-instituting the 55 mph speed limit (56%), and suspending the federal tax on gasoline for the summer (52%).

...
The poll found that the demonizing of the oil companies is no longer working. Just 20 percent blame them for the price increase. What is really striking though is how many oppose the Democrats' strangling of domestic production by keeping much of it off limits to drilling.

Republicans should be hammering Democrats on this issue from now to November.

Other polling has also shown by even greater margins that Democrats are on the wrong side on raising taxes.

They have been flat wrong on the surge of forces into Iraq and there is still time for voters to make them pay a price for being so disastrously wrong on a matter of national security.

The GOP still has time to tarnish the Democrat brand on all three of these issues.
