Jamie Rubin and the politics of fraud

Gateway Pundit looks at Jamie Rubin's attempt to play moral equivalence by using a partial McCain quote and cutting off the part where he says Hamas will have to recognize Israel's right to exist. In securities law this is known as the failure to disclose a material fac needed to put the original statement in context. If Rubin were selling securities instead of a political campaign, he could be charged with a in violation of rule 10(b)5.

Rubin presented his incomplete quote to suggest that Sen. McCain was being unfair by questioning why Hamas would support Sen. Obama. With the full quote now we know why.
