Iowa update

My sources in Iowa indicate Huckabee's strength is in the Northwest part of the state. He may also draw support from Independents who are unusually motivated for this election. They may also trend Huckabee. Romney remains strong.

Polling has been very inconsistent with various polls showing various candidates "making a move." The latest Zogby showed Fred Thompson gaining strength. When averaged by Real Clear Politics these polls show a tight race between Huckabee and Romney. The tracking chart is particularly revealing. Current polling shows the two leaders, Huckabee and Romney in the high 20's.

It is hard to believe that when the polling started Giuliani was the leader and in the high 20's. It looks like he may have squandered an opportunity by not campaigning in Iowas where he is currently in the mid single digits. Giuliani's decision on where to invest his time and money will continue to be questioned until he starts to win.

I will try to post results as they come in this evening.

In the Democrat contest this report suggest that Independents are probably going for Obama.
