Vance out plays the media

 American Action News:

SiriusXM’s Megyn Kelly and former Trump White House advisor Steve Bannon ripped into CBS host Margaret Brennan’s “laziness” during her interview with Vice President JD Vance, saying she was no match for him.

Vance appeared on CBS News’ “Face the Nation” Sunday, where Brennan pressed him on questions about the economy, immigration, and the Trump administration’s future plans. On “The Megyn Kelly Show,” Kelly criticized Brennan’s attempt to challenge Vance, praising the vice president for choosing to appear on legacy media for his first interview.

“JD’s very smart to go on with Margaret Brennan because some people said, ‘Why is he going to CBS? It’s the enemy. Look what they did to him in the vice-presidential debate.’ I thought, ‘No, he’s very smart because she’s adversarial. She’s going to try to punch him. She’s nowhere near his intellectual equal,” Kelly said.

“‘So he knows he can just slice and dice her with ease and do it as behaving as a gentleman, but leave everybody with the same impression, which is she is no match for him. Her arguments are no match for his,’” Kelly added.

Kelly went on to play a clip of the interview in which Vance said that the U.S. was not properly vetting immigrants. Brennan then attempted to push back, saying it was a “very particular case,” before Vance responded, “I don’t really care, Margaret. I don’t want that person in my country. I think most Americans agree with me.”

Bannon weighed in.

“He does it [like] such a gentleman. I mean, finally, the exasperation when they’re just going to continue on and continue on and continue on, all of them. I think this is why they’ve lost the backing of the American people. It’s why the ratings are a disaster, why the cost of these things,” Bannon said.
...
“They’re going through and cutting everybody’s salary. Their salaries are outrageous in the first place, cutting salaries. You see right there in JD. He tries. He makes an argument, puts the facts out. It just continues on, continues on,” Bannon added. “I mean, it’s not an interview. It’s a debate. right? Finally, he says, ‘Look, I don’t care.’ And the American people don’t care. Next question, which I think is great.”
...

Vance is a smart guy who came from a poor background and managed to get into top colleges because of his intelligence and not because of who his parents were.  I suspect that Margaret Brennon also had a staff preparing questions for her to ask Vance.  Vance showed himself to be smarter than the whole bunch.
