Democrats who want trade with enemies

Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar (Minn.) and fellow traveler Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii) held a press conference Thursday both to remind Americans that not everything woke in the federal government can be jettisoned through executive action and to advocate for the termination of President Donald Trump's authority to deport the citizens of an enemy nation.

When explaining why Congress should pass her bill repealing the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 — which Trump indicated would play a role in his crackdown on illegal immigration — Omar apparently identified who would benefit: criminals.

Glossing over illegal aliens' de facto violation of U.S. immigration law and evident contempt for American sovereignty, Omar claimed that they will not be kicked out of the country "because of anything they have done" but "because where they are from."

"The Trump administration's immigration policy is a threat to immigrants like criminals," said Omar. "America is too great to fall prey to Donald Trump's anti-immigrant agenda."

To keep criminals and potential enemies inside the U.S., Omar and Hirono have reintroduced the so-called "Neighbors Not Enemies Act," with the help of Massachusetts Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D), legislation that would have, for instance, barred Presidents Franklin D. Roosevelt and Harry S. Truman from deporting German citizens during World War II, referred to by Omar as "world war eleven" during the press conference.

I don't understand the Omar and Hirono policy.  It does not appear to benefit the US.  Apparently, they want to keep illegal aliens in the country.

Drones appear to be replacing jets for many operations.  The Russia-Ukraine war is an example of that.  Drones are often hard to detect and can be used for intelligence operations as well as for attacking enemy targets.  It would not surprise me to see drones engaging other drones in combat.  They also cost much less than manned fighters.

Apple's huge investment in US including Texas facility

Blaze: Apple announced a $500 billion commitment to infrastructure in the United States over four years, its largest commitment to domestic spending to date. Apple said it will expand teams and facilities in Arizona, California, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, Texas, and Washington as part of its new spending. With a new facility in Houston, Texas, Apple will reportedly double its investment in advanced manufacturing along with increasing investments in AI and silicon engineering. The company said in a press release that the Houston facility will produce servers to support Apple Intelligence, the "personal intelligence system that helps users write, express themselves, and get things done." ... The Texas facility will be for advanced technologies.   Texas has become a place that is very supportive of the tech industries.  Austin and Houston have seen much of the tech growth in the state.  Texas universities have been active in the AI field.
