Bondi nails Schiff in questioning

Pam Bondi, who was nominated by President-elect Donald Trump to serve as attorney general, slammed Democratic Sen. Adam Schiff of California following a heated exchange during her confirmation hearing on Wednesday.

Like other Senate Democrats, Schiff spent the majority of his time interrupting Bondi and insinuating that she would behave as a partisan actor in the Department of Justice on behalf of the president. After Schiff repeatedly berated her, Bondi pointed out the hypocrisy of his line of questioning.

"You're all so worried about Liz Cheney, Senator," Bondi said. "You know what we should be worried about? The crime rate in California right now is through the roof. Your robberies are 87% higher than the national average. That's what I want to be focused on, Senator."

Senate Democrats, and Schiff in particular, railed at Bondi with concerns that Trump would weaponize the federal government in a partisan manner. Although Schiff claims to be concerned about weaponization, he failed to recognize the partisanship that has been taking place under Attorney General Merrick Garland and President Joe Biden.

"Senator, what I can tell you is I will never play politics," Bondi said to Schiff. "You're trying to engage me in a 'gotcha.' I won't do it. I won't play politics with any ongoing investigation like you did leaking your colleague Devin Nunes' memo."

One of California's major problems is that it keeps electing Democrats like Schiff and Newsom.  It has also instituted soft-on-crime policies that often put the perps back on the street.  It has gone downhill since Ronald Reagan was in office there.

Bondi looks like a winner as the new AG.

Drones appear to be replacing jets for many operations.  The Russia-Ukraine war is an example of that.  Drones are often hard to detect and can be used for intelligence operations as well as for attacking enemy targets.  It would not surprise me to see drones engaging other drones in combat.  They also cost much less than manned fighters.

Apple's huge investment in US including Texas facility

Blaze: Apple announced a $500 billion commitment to infrastructure in the United States over four years, its largest commitment to domestic spending to date. Apple said it will expand teams and facilities in Arizona, California, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, Texas, and Washington as part of its new spending. With a new facility in Houston, Texas, Apple will reportedly double its investment in advanced manufacturing along with increasing investments in AI and silicon engineering. The company said in a press release that the Houston facility will produce servers to support Apple Intelligence, the "personal intelligence system that helps users write, express themselves, and get things done." ... The Texas facility will be for advanced technologies.   Texas has become a place that is very supportive of the tech industries.  Austin and Houston have seen much of the tech growth in the state.  Texas universities have been active in the AI field.
