Dems cooking the books on crime, jobs and census data

Stephen Moore: ... We're finding more and more evidence that the statistics the government is releasing to the public are increasingly suspect and unreliable. It seems like the errors are not random but perhaps manipulated for political advantage. Judge for yourself. Let's start with crime statistics. Former President Donald Trump said in the debate that crime is out of control, and Vice President Kamala Harris countered by citing government statistics from the FBI indicating that crime rates are falling. But Jeffrey Anderson, former director of the Bureau of Justice Statistics, finds a surge in urban violent crime since 2019. He writes in the Wall Street Journal that "the violent crime rate in 2023 was 19% higher than in 2019." The urban violent crime rate was up 40%, and urban property crime rate rose 26%. How can the Left keep saying crime is down? A big reason is the FBI figures are only measuring "crimes reported to the police."...

Administration attempts to hide its illegal immigration problem

DC Daily Journal: ... Although illegal border crossings have decreased, critics argue that the administration is masking the true nature of the problem by creating legal avenues for foreign nationals to enter the U.S. on a large scale. The administration recently pointed to a 50% reduction in border encounters between ports of entry as a result of the executive order. However, it also noted that over half a million foreign nationals have been flown into the U.S. under a mass parole program, and nearly a million others have scheduled appointments with the government to seek entry. According to a CBP press release, approximately 530,000 individuals from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela have been flown into the U.S. and granted parole under the Biden-Harris administration’s CHNV program. Additionally, around 813,000 migrants have booked appointments through the CBP One app since its launch in January 2023. “These schemes only serve to hide the crisis in plain sight and increase ...

Trump's victory strategy in 2024

DC Daily Journal: ... One of the problems that Kamala Harris has is that her base is what it is. She’s not a Trump-like figure that can unlock millions of potential voters who were previously uninterested in voting in the Presidential election. That’s what happened in 2016 when Donald Trump won in the first place. Countless Americans who had not voted in 2012 or 2008 decided to get behind Mr. Trump. Kamala Harris just doesn’t have that capability. She’s relying on shoring up the support that exists for the Obama and Biden admin years. In one sense, you could say she’s riding the coattails and not exactly bringing anything new to the table. Donald Trump, on the other hand, still has growth to do. While he’s polling better than he did at any point in 2016 and 2020, his campaign has identified new voting blocs that will make it extremely difficult for Kamala Harris to overcome and beat Donald Trump. The answer is in rural communities who usually stay out of politics entirely. The Ami...

Media begins to call Harris on her word salad interviews

The Federalist Wire: ... A scathing New York Times report took Vice President Kamala Harris to task for her latest softball interview with MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle, where once again, Harris danced around giving any straight answers. Harris, known for her pattern of dodging tough questions, stuck to the same strategy that has become her hallmark: evade, deflect, and offer vague responses. “Since Ms. Harris began granting more interviews in recent days, her media strategy has been to sit with friendly inquisitors who are not inclined to ask terribly thorny questions or press her when her responses are evasive,” the report observed, pointing out what many have come to expect from the vice president. Harris, who has been under fire for her lack of transparency and unwillingness to tackle real policy issues, sat down for her first solo network interview just days after Ruhle had jumped to her defense. Ruhle had previously brushed off criticisms that Harris avoids answering questions an...

US troops on alert for Iran retaliation

Newsmax: The U.S. military said Sunday that it's increasing its air support capabilities in the Middle East and putting troops on a heightened readiness to deploy to the region as it warned Iran against expanding the ongoing conflict. The announcement came two days after President Joe Biden directed the Pentagon to adjust U.S. force posture in the Middle East amid intensifying concern that Israel's killing of the leader of Iran-backed Hezbollah could prompt Tehran to retaliate. "The United States is determined to prevent Iran and Iranian-backed partners and proxies from exploiting the situation or expanding the conflict," Pentagon spokesperson Major General Patrick Ryder said in a statement. He also cautioned that if Iran or groups Tehran backs "use this moment to target American personnel or interests in the region, the United States will take every necessary measure to defend our people." The Pentagon statement offered few clues as to the size or scope of...

Biden dementia on display in attacks on Vance

DC Daily Journal: ... In yet another eyebrow-raising moment, President Biden referred to Vice President Kamala Harris as his “boss” on Thursday and mistakenly called Ohio Senator JD Vance, Donald Trump’s running mate, by the wrong title — labeling him “secretary” during an event where he unveiled new gun-focused task forces. The 81-year-old president, well-known for his gaffes, delivered a rambling speech to a group of guests at the White House. In an odd statement, he claimed to have attended “all but three mass shootings in the United States of America,” before launching a misleading attack on the Republican vice presidential candidate, JD Vance. Biden incorrectly accused Vance, 40, of dismissing mass shootings as an unavoidable reality in America, even though Vance’s actual comments suggest the opposite. “I’m going to be very blunt, Secretary Vance of Ohio has called these shootings facts of life. Who the hell do these people think they are?” Biden angrily remarked. However, wh...

CNN panel exposes Walz buffoonery

Red State: ... A CNN panel was talking about the debate on Sunday. Another panelist offered that Walz was "consequential." That got commentator Scott Jennings started, as he chortled at that. ... He said that he didn't find him "consequential." Jennings didn't hold back, "Walz is a buffoon." ...  Jennings ripped into him.  This guy is the only schoolteacher in America who brags that none of his students could get into an Ivy League school. He's had one consequential press interaction with our Dana Bash, who asked him about the fabrications in his own resume and his reaction was essentially "Me no understand words good." I mean he's a buffoon. He's on a free ride for running under Harris. He gets very little press. They don't let him talk to the press for a reason.  I want one thing out of this debate. I want JD Vance to go out there and get under his skin. [Walz] has a legendary hot, short temper. A lot of governors do, b...

New York Mayor indicted following complaint about migrant crisis

The Federalist Wire: ... On Thursday, former President Donald Trump addressed the federal indictment of New York City Mayor Eric Adams, expressing that he had long anticipated such an outcome. Speaking to reporters from Trump Tower, Trump reflected on the situation, connecting Adams’ vocal stance on the city’s migrant crisis to the mayor’s legal troubles. Though Trump acknowledged that he does not know Adams well, he highlighted the mayor’s efforts to confront the migrant crisis in New York City. According to Trump, Adams’ criticism of the federal government’s role in the issue may have contributed to his current predicament. “I watched about a year ago when he talked about how the illegal migrants are hurting our city, and the federal government should pay us, and we shouldn’t have to take them,” Trump told reporters. “And I said, ‘You know what? He’ll be indicted within a year.’” Trump continued, pointing to what he sees as a troubling misuse of federal resources. “I was exactly...

Iran's threat to Trump

Headline USA:   Biden’s White House Won’t Say Whether Iran Killing Trump Would Be ‘Act of War’ 'If I were the president, I would inform the threatening country, in this case Iran, that if you do anything to harm this person, we are going to blow your largest cities and the country itself to smithereens...' Trump's response demonstrates why countries like Iran were reluctant to mess with the USA when he was president.

Devastating damage by hurricane of Florida

Image
NY Post: Tiny Florida town ‘wiped off the map’ by Hurricane Helene’s wrath: ‘There’s nothing left’ When Hurricane Helene battered Florida’s Gulf Coast this week, one of the hardest-hit areas was the small town of Steinhatchee, which was overwhelmed by a 10-foot storm surge and 140 mph winds. Most of the town’s 500 residents evacuated the area — and returned to find their homes and businesses destroyed. “It’s heartbreaking,” said Donna Landon, whose mobile home just outside the town limits was a total loss. ... A 10-foot storm surge would devastate most homes not on high ground and there is very little high ground in Florida.  Few buildings are left standing in the town near the state capitol of Florida. US ships fend off attack by Houthis

Fox News: MILITARY US warships come under attack in Red Sea as nearly two dozen incoming missiles and drones shot down Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi militants have attacked numerous commercial and military vessels following the Oct. 7 massacre against Israel The US should consider this an attack by Iran and react accordingly.  The Iranian regime is clearly hostile to the US and the rest of the West.  It is ruled by Islamic religious bigots who believe that Islam should rule the world. Ceasefire with Hamas and Hezballah elusive

DC Daily Journal: ... Regardless of where one stands on whether Israel should engage in a ceasefire, the fact remains that the Joe Biden and Kamala Harris administration has not been able to get anywhere close to a ceasefire at all. The war in the Middle East is actually getting worse by the day. Now Hezbollah is lashing out against Israel, adding fuel to the already enormous fire. Apparently Joe Biden is not happy. According to reports, Joe Biden had a secret meeting with some within his security cabinet, in which he cursed at them to relentlessly pursue the ceasefire they have been unsuccessful at reaching so far. As President Joe Biden nears the end of his term, he has reportedly been intensifying efforts to secure a ceasefire in the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, a move seen as critical to his foreign policy legacy. According to Politico, Biden has directed key members of his administration to prioritize a ceasefire agreement, with increased pressure stemming from the fact tha...

Can government data be relied on?

Stephen Moore: ... Let’s start with crime statistics. He writes in The Wall Street Journal that “the violent crime rate in 2023 was 19% higher than in 2019.” The urban violent crime rate was up 40%, and urban property crime rate rose 26%. How can the Left keep saying crime is down? A big reason is the FBI figures are only measuring “crimes reported to the police.” More than half of violent crimes are not reported, thanks to what Anderson calls a new era of “lax law enforcement policies” in urban areas. Police in big cities also have an incentive to undercount crimes to make their performance look better. Next, we have jobs data. The Bureau of Labor Sta...

Trump responds to the Biden-Harris border crisis

Newsmax: Vice President Kamala Harris "can never be forgiven" for "erasing our border," former President Donald Trump insisted during a rally in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin Saturday, where he railed about a report indicating that hundreds of thousands of convicted criminals have been allowed to be in the United States under her watch. "It's a total disqualifier, what she's done," Trump told an audience at an inside event. "She must never be allowed to become president of the United States … so much death has already taken place." Friday, Immigrations and Customs Enforcement released a letter to Rep. Tony Gonzales, R-Texas, showing that more than 600,000 immigrant criminals are on its dockets but have not been detained, including 13,000 convicted of murder. "They've never released this before," Trump said. "They never talk about deaths and how many they talk about certain things, but they've never released this kind...

Hezballah reels from decapitation's strikes by Israel

Newsmax The Israeli military said Sunday it killed another high-ranking Hezbollah official in an airstrike as the Lebanese militant group was reeling from a string of devastating blows and the killing of its overall leader, Hassan Nasrallah. The military said Nabil Kaouk, the deputy head of Hezbollah's Central Council, was killed on Saturday. Hezbollah confirmed his death, making him the seventh senior Hezbollah leader slain in Israeli strikes in a little over a week. They include founding members who had evaded death or detention for decades. Also on Sunday, Hezbollah confirmed that its senior leader Ali Karaki was killed in an Israeli strike that targeted some of the group's other senior figures, including Nasrallah, in Lebanon. Hezbollah has also been targeted by a sophisticated attack on its pagers and walkie-talkies that was widely blamed on Israel. A wave of Israeli airstrikes across large parts of Lebanon has killed at least 1,030 people — including 156 women and 87 ch...

Israel takes out Hezballah commander

National Review: When the smoke cleared, six buildings in the quarter of suburban Beirut targeted by Israeli warplanes were gone. They collapsed into themselves, subsumed beneath the underground bunker system that housed Hezbollah’s highest-ranking commanders. It will take days, perhaps weeks, to sift through the wreckage. But when the clearing operation is complete, the Israel Defense Forces believe the salvagers will have recovered the body of longtime Hezbollah commander Hassan Nasrallah. The IDF said early Saturday that Israel had “eliminated” Nasrallah and other commanders. It would be difficult to overstate Nasrallah’s significance to the terrorist organization he led and the blow to it represented by his death. Nasrallah took the role of Hezbollah’s secretary-general following the demise of his predecessor at the hands of the IDF over 30 years ago. He oversaw the terrorist sect’s councils and sub-councils, its judicial, parliamentary, and jihad assemblies. He led an organiz...

Blinken's nod for terrorist

Mark R. Levin @marklevinshow · 24m Traitor Blinken mourns the death of one of the world’s leading terrorists, who slaughtered scores of American Marines He should be saying "good riddance."  The Marines and their family deserve better for their sacrifice of this country.

Biden and the fentanyl crisis

The Federalist Wire: ... President Joe Biden, speaking before an assembly of global leaders in New York, acknowledged the United States’ ongoing battle against the fentanyl crisis, stating that “for years, too little has been done” to protect Americans from the deadly synthetic opioid. But since Biden took office, more than 250,000 Americans have died from fentanyl-related overdoses, the majority of which originate from China. At the symposium, held at the InterContinental Barclay Hotel alongside leaders from Italy, the Dominican Republic, and Belgium, Biden positioned himself as a leader on the issue. He emphasized that overdose deaths had been increasing prior to his presidency while noting a recent 10% decline in deaths. However, the president did not address the troubling fact that the number of fatalities has nearly doubled during his tenure compared to former President Donald Trump’s time in office. “For years, too little has been done to beat this threat here at home and ar...

Secret Service can't protect Trump in Wisconsin?

Matt Margolis: With the election nearly a month away and Donald Trump seeing some momentum in these final, crucial weeks, the Biden-Harris administration may be trying to undermine Trump’s ability to campaign in key swing states. We’re now learning that Trump recently had to cancel a planned campaign rally in the battleground state of Wisconsin after the Secret Service denied him adequate protection resources. On Tuesday, Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) addressed the issue in a letter to the acting director of the Secret Service, Ronald Rowe. He referenced allegations from a whistleblower who claimed that the cancellation was due to the agency's lack of "sufficient assets" to ensure the safety of the Republican presidential nominee. “I write concerning new whistleblower allegations that the U.S. Secret Service effectively forced the Trump campaign to cancel an upcoming event in Wisconsin,” Hawley wrote. “This new information calls into question your recent public statements reg...

Harris has no viable answer on economy

She has no plans to bring down costs because it is nearly impossible once inflation has taken hold. The reckless spending of the Biden-Harris administration caused inflation. They dialed back the spending numbers after their first year in office but the inflation only slowed but did not go away. Improper payments by the Bidne-Harris administration are projected to be one trillion dollars .

Arizona registering illegals to vote

Image
PJ Media: ... The Heritage Foundation's Oversight Project and the guerilla journalists at Muckraker have teamed up to unearth a little scheme down in Arizona — registering illegal aliens to vote.... The illegals Muckraker interviewed said they were registered to vote at grocery stores, while others reported activists visiting their apartment complex and encouraging them to register to vote. Why does this matter? In 2020, fewer than 11,000 votes tipped Arizona's electoral votes to Biden. Fast forward to today, and recent polling shows former President Donald Trump holding a narrow lead over Vice President Kamala Harris in Arizona, a critical swing state. With the race shaping up to be just as tight in 2024, the integrity of voter registration efforts takes on even greater significance — as does the lack of concern from the left. It gets worse. The Oversight Project tried to track these individuals on the voter rolls but came up empty-handed — they were nowhere to be found. ... ...
