Warner Todd Huston:
Just over a year until we elect a president, a report finds that nearly 90 million Americans are struggling financially so much that they are having trouble making ends meet.
The Census Bureau’s Household Pulse Survey showed that 89.1 million people have problems paying all their monthly bills and expenses.
During the 2023 State of the Union address, Biden claimed to have created 800,000 new jobs and cut the deficit by $1.7 trillion.
Trump has blasted Biden over the data.
“Joe Biden has been a disaster for the economy,” Trump said on Truth Social. “Between his massive tax hikes, anti-energy crusade, and trillions of dollars in wasteful spending, Biden caused the highest inflation in almost half a century.”
“As a result, interest rates soared to crushing levels, and now we are seeing bank failures that nobody believed even possible just two years ago,” he said.
Things are going to get worse, according to financial experts.
Meanwhile, Joe Biden refuses to negotiate with Republicans on the debt ceiling debate because he wants to ramp up even more wild spending. And he is even floating fantasy ideas about using the 14th Amendment to force his will on Congress. But even his own Treasury Secretary says that the Amendment can’t be used for that.

Inflation is also driving up consumer debt as many of the poorer in the country are forced to borrow more money to cope with the prices. Trump nails the problem. The real economy was much better under Trump.
