Palin pops ESPN for treatment of baseball analyst
Washington Times:
If the truth is unacceptable to this bunch then they are likely to lose more of their audience.
Sarah Palin ripped ESPN as “a journalistic embarrassment,” following the network’s suspension of baseball analyst Curt Schilling for a tweet that compared radical Muslims to Nazis.I agree with Gov. Palin. It is not only a fair comparison, historical records show that radical Islamist sided with Hitler during the war. ESPN is run by people who do not know much about history or radical Islam. ESPN is run by a cesspool of liberalism. Were they worried about offending and audience that sets theaters on fire if they show a soccer match?
“ESPN — what happened to you? Your intolerant PC police are running amok and making a joke out of you!” the former Alaska governor wrote in a Facebook post Thursday night. “By picking and choosing who they’ll tolerate and who they’ll try to destroy, ESPN has zero credibility as a sound and reasonable media outlet.”
Her comments come after ESPN suspended Mr. Schilling for what it called a “completely unacceptable” tweet, which contained a meme that read: “It’s said only 5-10% of Muslims are extremists. In 1940, only 7% of Germans were Nazis. How’d that go?”
Mrs. Palin argued that Mr. Schilling’s tweet was accurate, and actually “too generous in estimating Muslims’ attitudes.”
“Reports show it’s 88% of Egyptian Muslims favoring DEATH for anyone who leaves Islam. The majority of Muslims in many other places share the sentiment. In America, these views could be correctly described as ‘extreme,’” she wrote. “The difference between Hitler’s army and the genocidal maniacs of ISIS is that the jihadists don’t have as much power … yet.
