Gustav headed for Gulf coast

...My sister lives in Lafayette, Louisiana and right now they are in the projected path of the storm. She is busily making evacuation plans. Interestingly, they did not have to evacuate for Katrina or Rita which bracketed their area. LSU has moved up the time of its football game today to 10 a.m. to give fans time to evacuate. I think landfall is still projected for Tuesday."Gustav is expected to pass over western Cuba as a major hurricane, and could reach Category 4 status before making landfall there. Additional strengthening is possible over the southern Gulf of Mexico," forecasters warned.
Gustav's hurricane force winds extend outward up to 60 miles as it barrels toward the U.S. Gulf Coast for a landfall late Monday or Tuesday.

As of 8 a.m. ET, Gustav was about 85 miles southeast of the Isle of Youth and about 225 miles east-southeast of Cuba's western tip. Forecasters said conditions were deteriorating over the Isle of Youth, which is located about 62 miles off the southern tip of mainland Cuba.
