Handing the gavel to the children
Michelle Malkin:
...Hastert also noticed the Pelosi gaff on 60 Minutes as well as her naive attitude toward the enemy.
For all the White House's faults, however, there is no doubt in my mind that Republicans as a group are better informed, better equipped and better able to lead this country in a time of war than the Democrats. The donkey party is led by thumb-sucking demagogues in prominent positions who equate Bush with Hitler and Jim Crow, call him a liar in front of high school students and the world, fantasize about impeachment and fetishize the human rights of terrorists who want to kill me.
Put simply: There are no grown-ups in the Democrat Party.
Maybe this is what a prematurely giddy Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., meant when she told the Los Angeles Times this week: "The gavel of the speaker of the House is in the hands of special interests, and now it will be in the hands of America's children."

...This woman is an example of what is wrong witht he Democrat party and liberals in general. Our national security should not be trusted to such people and if it is, the terrorist will rejoice.
"Democrat Leader Pelosi would trust the terrorists to give up their objective and play nice in exchange for the United States leaving Iraq. This outlook is foolish, naive and dangerous," Hastert said.
Pelosi told CBS's Leslie Stahl that yes, there are terrorists in Iraq. "But that doesn't mean we stay there. They'll stay there as long as we're there. They're there because we're there," she said.
Hastert said the minority leader is wrong. The global war on terror is just that -- global, he said. "It is not fought in just one country. It is not even fought in one hemisphere."
...
Hastest said if Democrats controlled Congress, they would "cut and run from the Global War on Terror, continue to coddle terrorists, create a United States Department of Peace -- and call it a day."
