Kerry compounds gaff with demo of hysterical lack of integrity
Sen. John Kerry has issued a press release that has only worsened his egrigious statements about the troops.
While Kerry is trying to say that he did not insult the troops he hurls insults at all who oppose his point of view on the war. Unfortunately for him many of those people are troops too. Here is a quick list of insults from that voice of reason, Sen. Kerry:
What prompted all this hate speech was a call for him to apologize to the troops for implying that they were not smart enough to avoid defending their country. Nope, he never got around to saying he made a mistake in his description of the troops. If he were smart he would apologize and get this behind him. Instead he has double downed with insults and the statement will live with him and the Democrats for at least the remainder of the campaign and probably any future Kerry campaign.
Gateway Pundit has several links on the Kerry snafu including a lengthy debunking of the myths about recruits and the military. I would add that many of he top generals who are responsible for our strategy in Iraq have doctorates from prestigious universities. Kerry keeps trying to attribute their strategic decisions to the President and then attacks those decisions through a political prism. This is a deeply dishonest way to conduct a debate over war policy. Villainous Company also has thoughts on the intelligence of her Marine husband of 25 years.
Update: Donald Sensing whose son is a Marine has some thoughts on Kerry's statement. This report from the Heritage Foundation shows the demographics for recruits to be above average.
...Well he should be getting well with this criticism from someone who did serve in Vietnam and unlike him, committed no war crimes.
“If anyone thinks a veteran would criticize the more than 140,000 heroes serving in Iraq and not the president who got us stuck there, they're crazy. This is the classic G.O.P. playbook. I’m sick and tired of these despicable Republican attacks that always seem to come from those who never can be found to serve in war, but love to attack those who did.

The release also contains several misstatements of facts.
- assorted right wing nut-jobs
- talk show hosts desperately distorting
- their (the administration) disastrous record
- they're crazy
- despicable Republican attacks
- a stuffed suit White House mouthpiece
- doughy Rush Limbaugh
- Republican hacks
- George W. Bush and Dick Cheney who misled America into war and have given us a Katrina foreign policy that has betrayed our ideals, killed and maimed our soldiers, and widened the terrorist threat instead of defeating it...
- the empty slogans of an Administration
