Tim Blair is all over this story and as usual is very entertaining in his criticism. One suggestion for the Sheik's spinners is that if his speeches do not translate well into English, he might try learning the language. Now that is an idea.
I have discussed this episode before, but there is a new dynamic at work here. While the Aussie papers are not throwing a tantrum, the cleric's remarks are getting a full throated rebuke. I wonder if he sympathizes with the Pope now?Australia's papers are dismissive of Sheikh Hilali's apology for remarks in which he compared immodestly dressed women to "uncovered meat".
