The rogue judge problem

Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich appeared on Fox Business Tuesday to share his concerns about the power wielded by district judges in the United States.

District judges have increasingly used nationwide injunctions to halt the implementation of President Donald Trump’s policies across the entire United States. During an appearance on “Kudlow,” Gingrich warned at the current state of affairs where, in his view, 700 district judges act as if they have presidential powers, meddling in detailed aspects of the presidency and threatening the governance of the country.

“You can’t have 700 district judges pretending that they’re president. You can’t have judges who decide that every single detail of the presidency is somehow open to them to screw it up. It makes it impossible for the United States to survive as a country,” Gingrich said.

Gingrich said that the Founding Fathers’ concerns about judicial supremacy reflects today’s concerns about overreaching judges.

Some judges have become a threat to US national security because of their rulings requiring the US to host criminal aliens in US jails and prisons rather than deporting them as the Trump administration has been doing.  Deportation makes the US safer.

29 % of companies say they are unlikely to keep insurance after Obamacare

Conn Carroll: A new survey of 368 midsize to large companies found that 29% of them are considering terminating their active employee health care plans when Obamacare is full implemented in 2014. Only 71% of employers surveyed said they did not expect to drop their health coverage, while 20% said they did not know and 9% said they were planning to exit. The latest survey, conducted by Towers Watson, echoes an ealier survey by McKinsey & Co. finding that 30% of private-sector employers were planning to drop their employee health insurance coverage by 2014. When the Congressional Budget Office crunched Obamacare's spending numbers, they estimated that only 7% of employees currently covered by employer-sponsored plans would lose their plans. ... Drones appear to be replacing jets for many operations.  The Russia-Ukraine war is an example of that.  Drones are often hard to detect and can be used for intelligence operations as well as for attacking enemy targets.  It would not surprise me to see drones engaging other drones in combat.  They also cost much less than manned fighters.
