Biden's goofy response to OPEC
The Biden administration announced on Tuesday it would act alongside five other major economies and release tens of millions of barrels of oil from national stockpiles in a bid to lower prices, as global oil cartel OPEC+ resists significantly boosting production in response to President Joe Biden's urging.
The Department of Energy will oversee the release of up to 50 million barrels of crude oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve's four storage sites along the Gulf Coast, which will be made available to private firms for refining or otherwise adding to their own crude reserves.

This is a fool's errand and Biden is just the guy to push it. He is releasing oil that the US was able to get at low prices during the Trump administration and will have to replace it with high-priced OPEC oil in the future unless he stops his ridiculous war on energy produced in the US. He is already doubling down on his bad energy policies by doubling the cost of drilling on federally controlled sites. That will not make oil cheaper.
If the Democrats want to transition away from fossil fuels then need to develop a better alternative than the current wind and solar scams. Driving up the cost of oil has not produced a better alternative in the Obama administration or the Biden administration. About the only good that has come out of it is they have angered voters to the extent that they want to vote against every Democrat on the ballot.
As for OPEC, Biden has done things that allow OPEC to return to its policy of maximizing profits by driving up the cost. Biden has put the cartel back in control of energy pricing.
