Dried beans disappear from the grocers' shelves rapidly curind coronavirus scare

NY Times:

A Boom Time for the Bean Industry

“It’s just shocking,” one bean supplier said. “I used to be the loneliest man at the farmer’s
market.”
The local HEB where I shop was bereft of dried beans in the area where they normally have plenty.  The same goes for pasta.  Both foods are easily storable and can become a hearty meal by adding water and spices.  Red beans and rice is a Louisiana favorite with chunks of sausage.  Black beans are also a healthy favorite prepared with spices and cilantro.  One of the things I noticed is that the produce section of the stores is still better stocked which should allow you to build recipes to fit the dried items.
