Islamic State loses another town

Washington Post:

U.S. strikes help break Islamic State’s siege

Iraqi forces aided by U.S. airstrikes entered the town of Amerli, where thousands of residents had been trapped for two months. This marks the second time the U.S. has intervened militarily in Iraq to prevent an Islamic State attack.
The ISIL army has a force to space problem.  It has taken more space than it has troops to hold.  US airpower combined with Iraqi ground forces are beginning to drive them out of some of their recent gains in Iraq.  The US could do much more, if it would bring in several squadrons of A-10's.  These planes with there built in cannons could destroy the ISIL columns of Toyota pickup trucks full of fighters that are used to transport troops to battle.  They are exposed in the open desert in their movement to contact and it is a mistake not to take them and their trucks out.
