Air Force looks to change procurement policies

NY Times:
The Air Force called for a shift away from big-ticket weapons systems to a move toward high-technology armaments that can be quickly adapted to meet a range of emerging threats.
They are trying to deal with the high cost and long wait time of the current practice.  They need to learn to take off the shelf tech and adapt it instead of trying to invent their own systems.
