The incoherence of Democrat energy policy

The Democrats' domestic policies are an incoherent jumble: they want lower gasoline and heating oil prices, but they block the very things, oil drilling and the construction of new refineries, that would actually reduce them. At the same time, for reasons of "climate change," they want less consumption of oil and gas, which implies higher, not lower, prices.

None of this makes any sense; the Democrats are just hoping that no one notices between now and November. Today, Nancy Pelosi gave a press conference, and for once she was asked an incisive question. Her rambling answer, which included an embarrassing effort to hide behind the "evangelical community," revealed the emptiness of the Democrats' domestic agenda....

It points out not only what a light weight Pelosi is on energy policy, but how the Democrats policy has forced us into the situation we now find our selves with higher prices and no new supply to drive down the price. It is exactly what they wanted but being the demagogues they are, they want to blame the oil companies who were not permitted to drill in Alaska and off shore.

An aggressive campaign against the Democrat energy policy should be a winning issue for the GOP this year. We need to get people fed up with the incompetence of Pelosi et.al.

29 % of companies say they are unlikely to keep insurance after Obamacare

Conn Carroll: A new survey of 368 midsize to large companies found that 29% of them are considering terminating their active employee health care plans when Obamacare is full implemented in 2014. Only 71% of employers surveyed said they did not expect to drop their health coverage, while 20% said they did not know and 9% said they were planning to exit. The latest survey, conducted by Towers Watson, echoes an ealier survey by McKinsey & Co. finding that 30% of private-sector employers were planning to drop their employee health insurance coverage by 2014. When the Congressional Budget Office crunched Obamacare's spending numbers, they estimated that only 7% of employees currently covered by employer-sponsored plans would lose their plans. ...
