The peace be upon him Holy Prophet war games

Sunday Telegraph:

Iran says it has test fired the world's fastest underwater missile during a week of war games in the Gulf, according to reports.

A caption on the country's state television said: "The world's fastest underwater missile was successfully test fired on the third day of the 'Holy Prophet war games'."

How does it know?

This AP report gives a few more details.

...

The Iranian-made missile has a speed of about four miles per minute underwater, Gen. Ali Fadavi, deputy head of the Navy of the elite Revolutionary Guards, said.

He called it the fastest underwater missile in the world _ but it has the same speed as the Russian-made VA-111 Shkval, developed in 1995 and believed to be the world's fastest.

It was not immediately known if the Iranian missile was based on the Shkval.

Reuters says the missle is also suppose to not be seen by sonar. If all these reports are true, it makes it even more important that all of Iran's navy facilities and ships be taken out at the same time as any strike on its nuke facilities. The US will need to have its Los Angelos class subhunters ready to knock out any Iran subs, at the beginning of hostilities.
