Dem libs oppose border security deal

 Hot Air:

Rep. Ro Khanna vented against President Biden over working with Republicans on a border deal. Biden is desperate to move the needle on the demands of Republicans that border security get hammered out before they agree to vote on more aid to Ukraine.

Republicans are using their leverage to demand that Biden agree to common sense actions on the southern border. House progressives are angry that progressive voices, they claim, are being shut out of the negotiations process in the Senate. Rep. Ro Khanna (D- Silicon Valley) is angry because he sees Biden’s cooperation for what it is – election year appeasement.

Biden has stalled about as long as he can to work out a deal on immigration and the southern border. The Biden border crisis is so catastrophic at this point that even Democrats are calling Biden out on his dereliction of duty. Voters say that immigration and border security is a top issue. That and Biden’s disastrous poll numbers have caught the attention of Team Biden. Whether he likes it or not, he has to participate now in negotiations between Republicans and Democrats.

Democrat leaders read the polls and know that the voters do not support the so-called progressive agenda of open borders.  Democrats are down 20 to 25 percent on the issue.

The NY Times story on the issue:

How Biden’s Immigration Fight Threatens His Biggest Foreign Policy Win

The debate over immigration in the United States is spilling over into other parts of President Biden’s agenda, particularly the war in Ukraine.

Biden and the Dems deserve to lose on their open borders policy. The debate is over illegal immigration and should not be confused with legal immigration.

The hard reality is that migrants with little education and few skills are most likely to move into neighborhoods of the poorest people, who are black, and bring crime and gangs with them. They also displace black citizens from jobs, by being willing to work for less, making the lot of black people that much harder. The black people see this from the sharp end much more so than the Martha's Vineyard crowd, and as Charlamagne reports, they want something done about it.

The radio host is hearing from black people -- and so is the black mayor of Chicago, because black residents there have demanded that he stop putting black residents last as every move is made to accommodate illegal border crossers while local people go without resources.

Biden Admits Southern Border Is Not Secure: ‘Give Me The Money’

President Joe Biden admitted Friday evening that the U.S. southern border is not secure after years of the region experiencing catastrophic surges in illegal aliens pouring into the U.S. due to Biden’s immigration policies.
