CIA Chief Flags Putin 'Desperation' as Russia Warns U.S. to Stop Arming Ukraine

The story is about giving Putin an off-ramp to back down.  It comes at a time when US strategists see an opportunity to reduce the threat posed by Russia by helping Ukraine destroy much of the Russian war machine.  This would reduce the danger to NATO on a long-term basis.  

The war has exposed how weak the Russian military is without its nukes.   Will Putin become so desperate he will use them?
