Democrat politics of fraud in Alabama senate race could violate state law

Washington Post:
Disinformation targeting Roy Moore’s Senate bid may have broken the law, Ala. attorney general says

The attorney general said his office is exploring the disinformation campaign deployed against Moore, a Republican, and said he was worried that the operation could have affected the closely fought race.
It should be against the law to engage in clearly fraudulent campaign practices.  This is very different than campaign promises.  It involved allegations that were clearly false and intended to influence the election.  It is election theft by false pretexts.
