Can Turkey be trusted to take over the fight against ISIS?

Reuters is reporting that Turkey has said it will finish the job against the remnants of ISIS forces still in Syria.  Which raises the question of why they did little or nothing before the US stepped in with the help of the Kurds to destroy ISIS territorial hold on parts of Syria and Iraq.  In fact, elements within Turkey were financing ISIS by buying the oil they were stealing from wells in the area they controlled.

While some make the case in support of the President's decision to leave Syria, It is harder to make the case that Erdogan can be trusted to finish the job.  What he really wants is a free hand in attacking the Kurds who were US allies and did much more to defeat ISIS than Turkey ever did.  I think those opposed to the President's decision made the mistake of focusing on the continuing threat from ISIS and ignored the malevolence of the Turkish leader.
