Erdogan using failed coup as excuse to seize businesses

NY Times:

Turkey Wages War on ‘Enemies’ in Business World

The government has seized more than 950 companies, from a baklava chain to a major construction firm, over suspected ties to a failed coup attempt last year.
The Turkish despot has used the failed coup attempt for everything from depriving political opponents of freedom to theft of businesses from those not deemed to be a supporter of his Islamist crackpot ideas.  Freedom is a big loser in Turkey.  Erdogan was already an unreliable ally in the war being waged against the rest of the world by radical Islamists.  He has unleashed his inner despot.
