Another illegal immigrant stash house found in Houston

Houston Chronicle:
Authorities found 30 suspected illegal immigrants packed inside a house Thursday morning in southeast Houston.

The discovery was made about 3:30 a.m. at a home in the 8500 block of Glenaire near Glenloch, officials said.

The people, including a pregnant woman and a 14-year-old boy, were taken into custody by the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Police towed away a van parked in the driveway.

It appears the people had been smuggled into the country from Mexico. A person called police to say a relative was being held at the house. The caller said the people holding the relative demanded money before the person could be released.
...
This is the new face of illegal immigration and it is being operated by the drug cartels as another sideline in many cases.  Authorities usually just stumble onto to these stash houses rather than finding them through investigative efforts.  Recently a house was found with 40 people living in it.  They are usually brought in using stolen pickups or vans or sometimes using rental moving trucks if their are large groups being transported.

While they are being brought in from Mexico, in many cases they are from Central America.  The money demands are usually not cheap and bodies are sometimes found for those who could not pay.

This si one of the reasons I do not trust the assertions by the Obama administration that the number of new illegals is down.  The 14 year old is not unusual either.  He would have claimed dreamer status and ICE would not have been allowed to investigate his claims in most cases.
