Bad reporting on violence


There is a pattern of the media jumping to the conclusion that conservatives or the Tea Party are responsible for violent attacks.  It is a fairly long list, and they have been consistently wrong.

I have a theory.  I think liberals tend to see opposition to liberalism as crazy.  Therefore, when some nut job does something crazy like engage in mass murder, they just assume it must be one of those crazy conservative Tea Party members.  Trained journalist used to be taught not to stereotype crime stories.  That is why they quit putting race in the description most of the time and they used to not put whether the killer was a veteran.  That part of journalism appears to be a lost art, like getting the facts before making allegations.

The Tea Party is made up of people who want lower taxes, lower debt and lower regulations.  We know liberals think those are crazy ideas, but they should also recognize that mass murder is not on their agenda.

29 % of companies say they are unlikely to keep insurance after Obamacare

Conn Carroll: A new survey of 368 midsize to large companies found that 29% of them are considering terminating their active employee health care plans when Obamacare is full implemented in 2014. Only 71% of employers surveyed said they did not expect to drop their health coverage, while 20% said they did not know and 9% said they were planning to exit. The latest survey, conducted by Towers Watson, echoes an ealier survey by McKinsey & Co. finding that 30% of private-sector employers were planning to drop their employee health insurance coverage by 2014. When the Congressional Budget Office crunched Obamacare's spending numbers, they estimated that only 7% of employees currently covered by employer-sponsored plans would lose their plans. ...
