The simplicty of opposition faces a conflict in Korea

If President Bush were still in office the Korea explosion of a nuclear bomb would be so much simpler. Obama and the Democrats would just blame the President for not engaging in diplomacy to stop the tests. Now that Obama is in power he has to decide whether to engage and give in or confront and seek more isolation of the hermit kingdom. The Washington Post looks at the dilemma.

The fact is that neither choice will be effective without the cooperation of China and however much the Chicoms huff and puff, they will still protect the Norks in the UN gutting effectiveness of sanctions and any time wasted by the administration in negotiation with the Norks will only yield at best an agreement that the Norks will not honor.
