Palin asks why it took so long for Obama's coal policy to surface

It is a good question and another example of how incurious the media has been. In this case it was apparently sitting in the San Francisco Chronicle offices for months. I suspect they did not think there was anything wrong with this stated policy. To San Francisco's way of thinking that is the way things ought to be.

Here is the CBS News story on her appearance along with dismissive paragraphs from Obama talking points. I don't find them persuasive when you look at the entirety of his statement. It reminds me of his statements about the high oil prices this summer, where he did not really oppose them, just how quickly they got to that level. I think he and other Democrats want to make energy as expensive as possible in hopes that a magic replacement for fossil fuels will emerge.

  1. The audio and video wasn't secreted away - it was publicly released back in January. The idea that this was hidden away is just another tin-foil hat right wing blogosphere lie.
