Kennedy Vietnam Myth

Historians are still arguing whether President Kennedy would have pulled out o vietnam after the 1964 election. What little evidence there is for this theory, has to be based on a false assumption that the situation in Vietnam would have continued as it was when Kennedy made any suggestion that he favored a pull out. Static analysis of a dynamic situation where your enemy confronts you with new facts on the ground makes any such predictions more than speculative. Kennedy's men were the ones who advised President Johnson on the war. Then were the ones who created a quagmire by refusing to use adequate force and refusing plans to achieve decisive results.
