Xochitl Hinojosa, a former Department of Justice official, sharply criticized Democratic Party leaders on Tuesday for misleading the public about former President Joe Biden’s mental acuity in response to Special Counsel Robert Hur’s report.

Speaking on CNN’s NewsNight, Hinojosa highlighted the party’s dismissal of the report as “gratuitous” despite its findings being central to Hur’s decision not to prosecute Biden.

“I was at the Justice Department at the time when we released the Hur report, and he was, the entire White House infrastructure at the time, was calling the report gratuitous, and said that Rob Hur should have never called him ‘a well-meaning elderly man with a poor memory.’ And every Democratic pundit, many reporters, were out there saying that it was inappropriate for Rob Hur to say that. And the reality is, the whole reason why he put that in is because it was his whole reason not to prosecute,” Hinojosa, former DOJ Director of Public Affairs, said.

Her remarks emphasize the disconnect between the party’s public stance and the report’s legal reasoning.

The controversy resurfaced with the release of audio from Hur’s interview with Biden on Friday, revealing the former president struggling with words and recalling key details.

I thought Biden's dementia was obvious from his appearances on TV.  He had trouble struggling to make his points.  Even with many in the media making excuses for him, I was not buying what they were selling.
