Israel likely to strike Iran's nuclear program

The timeline for Israel to act against Iran's nuclear program has now compressed considerably. Coupled with the glacial pace of U.S. talks with Iran on its nuclear program, and the state of readiness of Israeli strike forces, some analysts have concluded that Israel is prepared to strike Iranian nuclear facilities in a matter of days.

The impasse in nuclear talks with Iran is "irreconcilable," according to the Israelis. Iran insists it will not give up its ability to enrich uranium. The U.S. demands a complete end to Iran's enrichment. For Iran, it is a matter of national honor to be able to enrich uranium. It's now part of their national identity and will not give it up under any circumstances.

The talks are continuing with minor progress on ancillary points in the dispute. The fundamental differences are broad and deep. The question now is, why continue the negotiations?

Indeed, chief U.S. negotiator Steve Witkoff left the talks in Rome early on Friday, citing his "flight schedule." The technical experts were left to make a list of the dozens of issues that still need to be resolved before formal talks can even begin.

Israel is a relatively small country with a lethal defense posture that has the assets needed to thwart the nuclear ambitions of Iran, which is currently in the grasp of Islamic religious bogots who want to murder everyone who is not a Muslim.  I doubt the US can talk Iran out of its genocidal posture.

Drones appear to be replacing jets for many operations.  The Russia-Ukraine war is an example of that.  Drones are often hard to detect and can be used for intelligence operations as well as for attacking enemy targets.  It would not surprise me to see drones engaging other drones in combat.  They also cost much less than manned fighters.

Apple's huge investment in US including Texas facility

Blaze: Apple announced a $500 billion commitment to infrastructure in the United States over four years, its largest commitment to domestic spending to date. Apple said it will expand teams and facilities in Arizona, California, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, Texas, and Washington as part of its new spending. With a new facility in Houston, Texas, Apple will reportedly double its investment in advanced manufacturing along with increasing investments in AI and silicon engineering. The company said in a press release that the Houston facility will produce servers to support Apple Intelligence, the "personal intelligence system that helps users write, express themselves, and get things done." ... The Texas facility will be for advanced technologies.   Texas has become a place that is very supportive of the tech industries.  Austin and Houston have seen much of the tech growth in the state.  Texas universities have been active in the AI field.
