Republican's push border security

The American people have long demanded a secure border, and House Republicans are answering that call with a massive investment in border security, building on the unprecedented successes of the Trump administration. With a clear mandate from voters who prioritize safety and sovereignty, the GOP is championing a $46 billion package to fortify the nation’s borders. This isn’t just about walls—it’s about equipping Customs and Border Protection (CBP) with cutting-edge tools to protect communities, stop illegal immigration, and choke off the flow of deadly drugs like fentanyl. The vast majority of Americans, fed up with years of lax policies, are ready to stand behind this bold vision.

The House Homeland Security Committee, led by Republicans, is driving this historic effort. The proposed $46 billion would fund new border wall systems, advanced cameras, sensors, lighting, access roads, and other technologies to strengthen enforcement capabilities. Over $5 billion is earmarked specifically for upgrading tech at and between ports of entry, ensuring CBP has the resources to stay ahead of increasingly sophisticated criminal networks. This investment reflects the will of a nation determined to reclaim control of its borders.

“As cartel tactics evolve, Congress must provide [Customs and Border Protection] CBP personnel with the cutting-edge technology they need to carry out President Trump’s proven border security agenda while safely staying one step ahead of threats,” said Homeland Security Committee Chairman Mark Green in an interview with the Daily Caller News Foundation. His words resonate with Americans who see secure borders as a cornerstone of national safety.

The technology package is a game-changer. “From drones and ground sensors to surveillance towers, technology is a force multiplier for our boots on the ground, allowing CBP to respond faster, smarter, and more strategically,” Green added. The GOP’s “One Big, Beautiful Bill Act” allocates over $5 billion to modernize tech, enabling CBP to detect human smuggling, reduce “gotaways” (illegal migrants who evade capture), and intercept dangerous drugs before they poison American communities. For a public weary of crime and chaos, this is a welcome step forward.

I grew up about 20 miles from the Mexican border in Texas, and it was much more secure back then.  Trump is wisely restoring border security after Biden opened the area to the cartels and illegals.  Back then, border residents would visit Mexican cities to shop and eat at restaurants.  Now it is not as safe.
