The Supreme Court's bad ruling on free speech

On Tuesday, the Supreme Court declined to hear a case involving Liam Morrison, a Massachusetts student banned from Nichols Middle School for wearing T-shirts criticizing the transgender movement.

The decision leaves intact a First Circuit Court of Appeals ruling from June 2024, which upheld the school’s actions.

Morrison, represented by his parents, Christopher and Susan Morrison, argued that the school violated his free speech rights by barring him from wearing shirts stating “There are only two genders” and later “There are [censored] genders.”

The school claimed the shirts made transgender students feel unsafe, a stance backed by a federal court that deemed the message demeaning. The Court’s refusal to take the case frustrates efforts to challenge school policies prioritizing certain sensitivities over free expression, raising concerns about the erosion of students’ rights to voice controversial opinions.

The Supreme Court should not be pandering to the gender dysphoria crowd.  It should be undeniable that there are only two genders.  If there were more than two, it would show up in the DNA of a person.

 Liam Morrison, along with his parents, Susan and Christopher Morrison, say that the school banned him from wearing a t-shirt that said, “There are only two genders” and another that read “There are [censored] genders” on the front.

Neither the school nor the court should be blocking truthful speech.  If someone believes there are more than two genders, they need to seek mental health counseling.

Drones appear to be replacing jets for many operations.  The Russia-Ukraine war is an example of that.  Drones are often hard to detect and can be used for intelligence operations as well as for attacking enemy targets.  It would not surprise me to see drones engaging other drones in combat.  They also cost much less than manned fighters.

Apple's huge investment in US including Texas facility

Blaze: Apple announced a $500 billion commitment to infrastructure in the United States over four years, its largest commitment to domestic spending to date. Apple said it will expand teams and facilities in Arizona, California, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, Texas, and Washington as part of its new spending. With a new facility in Houston, Texas, Apple will reportedly double its investment in advanced manufacturing along with increasing investments in AI and silicon engineering. The company said in a press release that the Houston facility will produce servers to support Apple Intelligence, the "personal intelligence system that helps users write, express themselves, and get things done." ... The Texas facility will be for advanced technologies.   Texas has become a place that is very supportive of the tech industries.  Austin and Houston have seen much of the tech growth in the state.  Texas universities have been active in the AI field.
