Dems' embrace of illegals a mistake

With President Donald Trump making the deportation of illegal immigrants a priority on Day One, Democrats have been relentless in trying to undercut his policies on deportations by way of the courts as well as the court of public opinion.

In recent weeks, in particular, the left, their activist groups, and the mainstream media have all hammered Trump over the deportation of illegal immigrant Kilmar Abrego Garcia, an alleged MS-13 member who was deported to his home country of El Salvador back in March.

Because Abrego Garcia has been incorrectly described as a "wrongly deported Maryland man," Democrats have made him their poster child for opposition to Trump's deportation policies. This is despite the fact that, in addition to Abrego Garcia's alleged gang ties, he's also an accused domestic abuser and a suspected human smuggler.

Though Democrats have, of course, found willing accomplices on this issue from the press, the good news is that their demagoguery campaign doesn't appear to be working with voters according to a new CBS News poll:

I am on the side of those who oppose illegal immigration.  I suspect most of the supporters of the illegals are Democrats who hoped that the illegals would eventually vote for Democrats.  In fact, some Democrat run states are already allowing them to vote.  That is the way that Democrats are winning elections in California, for example.

Drones appear to be replacing jets for many operations.  The Russia-Ukraine war is an example of that.  Drones are often hard to detect and can be used for intelligence operations as well as for attacking enemy targets.  It would not surprise me to see drones engaging other drones in combat.  They also cost much less than manned fighters.

Apple's huge investment in US including Texas facility

Blaze: Apple announced a $500 billion commitment to infrastructure in the United States over four years, its largest commitment to domestic spending to date. Apple said it will expand teams and facilities in Arizona, California, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, Texas, and Washington as part of its new spending. With a new facility in Houston, Texas, Apple will reportedly double its investment in advanced manufacturing along with increasing investments in AI and silicon engineering. The company said in a press release that the Houston facility will produce servers to support Apple Intelligence, the "personal intelligence system that helps users write, express themselves, and get things done." ... The Texas facility will be for advanced technologies.   Texas has become a place that is very supportive of the tech industries.  Austin and Houston have seen much of the tech growth in the state.  Texas universities have been active in the AI field.
