Multiple MS-13 gang members arrested in Texas Lower Rio Grande Valley

Houston Chronicle:
U.S. Customs and Border Protection said they arrested multiple Mara Salvatrucha, or MS-13, gang members this week in the Rio Grande Valley.

The first arrest was made by Brownsville agents on Sunday night when agents apprehended four immigrants entering the U.S. The arrests led to the discovery of one MS-13 gang member with an extensive criminal history including robbery and aggravated assault, the agency said.

On Monday, McAllen agents arrested a Salvadoran female in Granjeno. The agency said that record checks revealed that the illegal alien was an active member of MS-13.

The following day, Rio Grande Valley Border Patrol agents and multiple law enforcement agencies discovered a group of 40 illegal aliens while conducting a welfare check on a residence. Record checks revealed that one of the illegal aliens was a member of MS-13 with multiple charges involving assault with a dangerous weapon in aid of racketeering and was sentenced to 56 months confinement in the state of New York.

On Wednesday, McAllen agents arrested a Salvadoran male in Hidalgo. During processing, record checks revealed the man to be a MS-13 gang member with a prior arrest in the state of Maryland involving a handgun. The subject was sentenced to 111 days confinement.
