Are the Turks wising up about ISIL?

NY Times:

Turkey to Allow Use of Key Air Bases for U.S. to Bomb ISIS

The development, described by the Americans as a “game changer,” came as Turkish forces engaged in the first direct combat with ISIS on the Syrian border.
Up until now the Turks have been lousy allies in the war against ISIL.  They act like they would rather be at war with the Kurds than the ISIL head choppers.  They are still a part of ISIL's main supply line for materials and troops.  Experiencing a human bomb attack of their own may have sobered them up.
