Al Qaeda plot against Canadian train thwarted
Reuters/NY Post:
Authorities have thwarted a plot in Canada to attack a railroad that carries a daily Amtrak passenger train between Toronto and New York City, U.S. law enforcement and national security sources said on Monday.
At a press conference this afternoon, the Canadian Mounted Police announced the arrest of two men, Chiheb Esseghaier and Raed Jaser, who they said were conspiring to bomb the train line. The plot was 'sponsored by al Qaeda,' authorities said.
Authorities believed the men "had the capacity and intent to carry out these criminal acts" but "there was no imminent threat to the general public, rail employees, train passengers or infrastructure."
...These guys are still at war with us and our allies. It appears they did not bet the memo from Obama that the war was nearly over. The potential train wreck would probably have been as spectacular as the one coming under Obamacare.
