Over the red line in Syria

NY Times:

Israel Says Syria Has Used Chemical Arms Repeatedly

Israel’s senior military intelligence analyst said on Tuesday that it was “quite clear” Syria used chemical agents, which President Obama has called a “red line” that cannot be crossed.
Obama has to be aware of this too, but he has made a statement that he is not willing to back up at this time so he is ignoring the use of the chemical weapons.  Perhaps he is hoping that increased aid to the rebels will deal with the problem, but the implication of his red line was military attacks by the US.  We could probably take out the Syrian air force with few casualties and pave the way for Assad's defeat.
