Obama successful voter suppression effort.

Fox reports that currently Romney's vote total is 57,375,450.

In 2008, McCain got 59,934,814.  Obama barely beat McCain's popular vote count this year. Obama got roughly 6 million fewer votes this year than he did in 2008.

Obama's strategy was to suppress votes that would normally go to Republicans by making Romney unacceptable. That is what his negative campaign was about and it appears to have worked.  I suspect that will lead to even more negative campaigns in the future from both sides.  It was certainly the most expensive voter suppression effort in history.

Without his voter suppression through negative ads, Obama would have surely lost.  This is more evidence of his lack of a mandate.
