The Democrat cliff divers

Washington Post:

Patty Murray a rising voice in budget talks

She may be the most powerful senator a whole lot of people have never heard of outside of the two Washingtons where she lives and works. The low-key Democrat, who spearheaded her party’s recent gains in the Senate, is now urging colleagues not to be in too much of a hurry to reach a deal to avert the “fiscal cliff.”
She is one of the mental light weights of the Democrat caucus.  I think she had much less to do with Democrat gains in the Senate than the execrable  Harry Reid who played dirty politics in states like Missouri and Montana to save unpopular incumbents.  What the story does suggest is that Democrats don't really want a deal they want to go over the cliff and blame Republicans.
